The Third Tony's tour

Today we continued our central London tour in White Cube Mason's Yard, Timothy Taylor Gallery, MacColloch & Wallis, Wallace Collection, Selfridges Department Store, Victoria & Albert Museum and Serpentine Gallery.
Wallace Collection is a national museum displaying French 18th century painting, furniture and porcelain with superb Old Master paintings and a world class armoury. The details of the exhibits and interior is beautiful and impressive. All things in the museum totally show the classical European art's marrow, even the handles of the swords were also perfect. This museum help me to learn the western art culture better.

The Victoria and Albert Museum is a place gathering many treasures in different countries, I really enjoyed visiting it. I went to the architecture room, there were many architectures' models and design drawings. It's really worth to visit there to see and learn the different ideas of designing architectures. The furniture room quite impressed me. There were showing different old and new furnitures. The details of the old furniture can be used on the modern furniture design. It is related to my project. The V&A Museum itself is an example for reusing old buildings and adding new structures to it. The old and new parts connect closely with each other. They used the pure colours and materials to the adding parts, like lifts, roofs and the cabinets showing the exhibits. I will go back to the museum to learn more ideas and the art culture.

The Serpentine Gallery Pavilion 2013 really impressed me. It was designed by a Japanese architect, Sou Fujimoto. The materials of this structure are simple, just steels and glass. Sou Fujimoto is the leading light of an exciting generation of artists who are re-inventing our relationship with the built environment. Inspired by organic structures, such as the forest, the nest and the cave, Fujimoto's signature buildings inhabit a space between nature and artificiality. I am really interested in the concept of this structure, I want to use this idea in to my model of workshop 3. I can use this structure to create the different angles to see the old and new art or architecture. I also bought a book about Sou Fujimoto's architecture. I like the models and the ideas in this book, I think I can get some inspiration for my project from this book.
